Payroll Services · NJ & PA

Payroll that runs quietly in the background, the way it should

Staff paid on time, taxes filed correctly, and New Jersey and Pennsylvania compliance handled — including the reciprocal agreement that catches out almost every South Jersey employer.

What’s included

The whole thing, not just the part that cuts the cheques

Payroll is one of those services you only think about when it goes wrong — and when it goes wrong, it goes wrong with penalties attached. We run it end to end, and we would rather you never had to think about it at all.

  • Every pay run processed. Weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly or monthly. Direct deposit included as standard.
  • Federal, NJ and PA filings. 941s, 940s, state withholding and unemployment, filed on time, every time.
  • New hire reporting. Handled for you, within the state deadlines, without a reminder email.
  • W-2s and 1099s at year end. Prepared, filed and distributed to your people. No January panic.
  • Reciprocal agreement handling. NJ residents working in PA, and vice versa. This is where most employers quietly get it wrong.
  • Worker classification advice. An honest read on whether that ‘contractor’ is legally an employee — before an auditor gives you one.

A word of warning

The NJ–PA reciprocal agreement is a quiet, expensive trap

If you employ someone who lives in New Jersey and works in Pennsylvania — or the reverse — withholding to the wrong state does not bounce. It simply sits there, accruing, until a notice arrives years later addressed to you, not to your employee.

It fails silently

Nothing rejects. Nothing errors. The money goes to a state that was never owed it, and the state that was owed it starts counting.

The penalty lands on you

Withholding is the employer’s legal obligation. When it is wrong, the assessment and the interest are addressed to the business.

We check it on day one

Every new payroll client gets their withholding setup audited against employee residence before we run a single pay cycle.

Common questions

Questions we get asked a lot

How much does payroll cost?

Payroll starts at $95 a month plus $8 per employee per pay run. That includes the filings, the year-end W-2s and 1099s, and unlimited questions. There is no separate charge for calling us when someone changes their withholding.

Do you handle New Jersey and Pennsylvania payroll taxes?

Yes, including the reciprocal agreement for employees who live in one state and work in the other. Getting this wrong is the single most common payroll error we see in South Jersey, and it generates penalty notices for years before anyone notices.

What if I only have two or three employees?

Then you are exactly who this service is for. Big payroll platforms are built for volume and leave a three-person business to self-serve through a help centre. You get a named person who knows your staff by name.

Can you handle contractors and 1099s as well as W-2 staff?

We can, and we will also tell you honestly when someone you are paying as a contractor should legally be an employee. That conversation is uncomfortable once and very expensive to avoid.

Let’s talk

Not sure if you’re overpaying? Let’s find out.

Thirty minutes, free, and genuinely no obligation. New clients get a no-charge review of their last two tax returns — we usually find something.
